You could always try using crimp beads to keep the larger bead in place. I don't have any videos on using crimp beads, but I'm sure there are plenty on Youtube.

Try paperclips. Just bend them with a plier and it would be fine. I'm trying some right now. I just cut a part of the paper clip that is straight and bend them like in the video.

I wouldn't recommend trying to bend a needle. It will likely break as you say. Use a sewing pin instead. Those bend very well. Just cut the flat head off with wire cutters and you're good to go.

I am having the same problem finding eye pins with a sharp end! The thing with bending a sewing needle doesn't work, those things snap instead of bending. If anyone finds these sharp eye pins let me know!

Hi. I found you on youtube and I like your website! I have been doing beaded jewelry for a couple of years. I can't find a class that teaches beading on an intermediate level, so I feel a little stuck.

I like doing the "floating necklaces", using a simple piece of wire and crimps to hold the beads in place. However, I can't figure out how to attach a pendant in the middle (other than using two pieces of wire connected in the middle by a jump ring). Is there any other way to attach a pendant (and keep it in the middle of the necklace)?

Thanks,
Nikki :)
